High Flight Academy, Western Pennsylvania’s premier flight school, is looking for a full-time General Aviation Mechanic to join our growing team. The candidate will need to have some General Aviation experience working on piston-powered aircraft, preferably Cessna 172 and Piper Aircraft.
Position Overview:
This position works as a team member in a professional shop performing inspections, repairs, and preventative maintenance on Piston flight training aircraft. The successful candidate will possess the appropriate personality to work in a flight school environment while maintaining a constant focus on safety and quality.
Qualifications:
- Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate
- Piston-powered aircraft maintenance experience
- Knowledge and understanding of Federal Aviation Regulations and manufacturer manuals
- Possess adequate tools
- FAA Inspection Authorization (optional)
- (I A) certificate (optional)
- Avionics troubleshooting experience (Garmin GPS)
Responsibilities:
- Perform efficient troubleshooting, aircraft maintenance, and repair in accordance with applicable regulations, manufacturer’s instructions, and company policies
- Ensure consistent, accurate aircraft maintenance records by properly documenting and completing required forms, computer entries, and logbook entries
- Follow all policies and procedures
- Maintain accurate records
- Enter all activities into the work order software system
- Maintain an accurate and relevant inventory of spare parts and supplies
- Keep a clean and orderly work environment
- Perform job duties in a safe manner
- Perform other duties as assigned
