Aircraft Maintenance Matters

Maintenance matters in every aspect of our lives whether it is on our homes, vehicles, or self-care. We all deal with and care about maintenance. In the aviation industry, aircraft maintenance is at the upmost level of importance. At High Flight Academy, it’s no different. We have a full-time skilled staff of maintenance technicians that care deeply for our fleet of planes. Mechanics Kyle Hunsaker and Mackenzie Wojnarowski are both highly educated in maintaining aircraft. They always step up to the challenge of keeping them all in airworthy condition.

Our most recent aircraft maintenance news is the implementation of a project that has been in the planning stages for quite a while. The complete redesign and upgrade to the Cessna panels.

Aircraft Maintenance - Cessna Panel Upgrade

This multi-million-dollar project will take several months to complete. In the end, all the Cessna planes will have the exact same look and feel, making it a simple transition for students to move between them in their training. This upgrade is an essential element to the further advancement of High Flight into the future.

The first of our planes to get the upgrade was N61615. Since the work was completed, she is a very popular reserved plane. The update took over 6 weeks to complete with a cost in the tens of thousands.

The next step in the project is to repaint all the planes with a new updated High Flight Academy paint scheme. This step will begin later this year so stay tuned.

These upgrades and future plans will ensure High Flight Academy’s level of excellence and expectations remain at an outstanding level in the industry and elevate us to the area’s premier flight training center.
