Certified Flight Instructor (CFI)

About the Role

High Flight Academy is always looking for motivated Certified Flight Instructors to join our team of 25+ instructors at Pittsburgh-Butler Regional Airport (KBTP). Teach in a structured FAA Part 141 environment with standardized training guides, stage checks, and a clear pathway from instructing to the airlines.

What You Will Do

  • Provide flight and ground instruction to private, instrument, and commercial students
  • Train in well-maintained Cessna 172s and Piper aircraft, plus our Redbird FMX full-motion simulator
  • Follow High Flight's standardization guides and Part 141 curriculum
  • Build flight hours quickly with a busy seven-day-a-week schedule

What We Are Looking For

  • FAA Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) certificate required
  • CFII and MEI preferred, or earn them here through our Accelerated CFI program
  • Professionalism, patience, and a genuine commitment to student success

Aircraft Mechanic (A&P)

Maintain our growing fleet of 16+ piston aircraft at Western PA's premier Part 141 flight school. A&P required, IA preferred.

About the Role

High Flight Academy, Western Pennsylvania's premier Part 141 flight school, is hiring an experienced Aircraft Mechanic to maintain our growing fleet of piston aircraft at Pittsburgh-Butler Regional Airport (KBTP). You will keep our Cessna 172s, Piper aircraft, and multi-engine trainer safe, airworthy, and mission-ready for a busy seven-day-a-week training schedule.

What You Will Do

  • Perform inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance across a fleet of 16+ piston aircraft
  • Complete 100-hour and annual inspections in accordance with FAA regulations
  • Troubleshoot airframe, powerplant, and avionics squawks and document all work accurately
  • Coordinate with dispatch and instructors to minimize aircraft downtime

What We Are Looking For

  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certificate required
  • Inspection Authorization (IA) preferred
  • 5+ years of experience maintaining piston-powered aircraft, Cessna 172 experience preferred
  • Availability for some Saturday shifts given our seven-day operating schedule
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
