Flight Instructor Stories: Daniel Hayden

Daniel is one of the newest additions to our staff. Today he shares the story of what motivated him to learn to fly!

“Ever since kindergarten, I’ve said that I wanted to be a pilot. My Dad is a Captain for United and that’s who inspired me to pursue a career as a pilot. Flying has always interested me because there is never a dull moment in an airplane. I love traveling too and being a pilot allows me to travel the world as a job. Seeing my dad go to a number of different countries every month motivates me to keep working hard towards my dream. I started flight lessons when I was 16 at the Zelienople airport and earned my Private Pilot certificate in August of 2014, a few days before I started my college career at Kent State University. At Kent, I studied Aviation with a concentration in Flight Technology. I graduated from Kent with my bachelors of science degree in May 2018. I’m now building my flight time and experience at High Flight until I meet the requirements to move on to the airline industry.”
